A few people with plans to trailer a boat from afar to this area have asked me for advice as to launch points and destinations...As they always seem to want to go to Desolation Sound, my standard answer is to tow the boat to Pender Harbour and launch from there. From Pender Harbour, a large "figure 8" cruise will cover Desolation Sound, the Discovery Islands and North Georgia Strait without having to do any backtracking...

Ocean Whisper is a water ballasted trailerable sailboat with a retractable swingkeel. In the picture, the poptop is up, providing full standing headroom in the center section of the boat. Otherwise, headroom is 4' 8".
