Doug Baker started Front of House Entertainment in 2002 as a booking agency for touring artists in the folk, blues and Celtic genres. Doug toiled away for a couple of years trying to build a roster and booking those artists on tours of Canada. In particular he worked with two very talented groups Mundy-Turner from the UK/Australia and The Ecclestons from Victoria BC.

However he realized that not only was the operation not viable from a financial standpoint it wasn't a lot of fun at times. It can be very frustrating in the early days trying to build credibility with presenters and artists and obtain bookings for groups which, as talented as they may be, aren't household names. So in 2004, Doug ceased operations of the agency. As John Prine said in Illegal Smile, "I chased a rainbow down a one-way street - dead end!"
