Rex in 1958's "The Rawhide Trail"

Rex Reason was born in Berlin, Germany on November 30th, 1928 while his parents were there on a business trip.

Rex grew up in Los Angeles and during his childhood didn't really aspire to be an actor- however he was influenced by his mother for both him and his brother Rhodes Reason to get into the profession.

Sure enough, both of them did. Rex's first starring role came in the 1952 Columbia Pictures outfit "Storm Over Tibet" which co-starred Diana Douglas. While the film itself didn't break any records at the box office- it did usher in the start of Rex' long and well-rounded career.

Rex is perhaps best well known for his role as Cal Meacham in the 1955 Universal Studios Sci-Fi Hit "This Island Earth" which was a ground breaking film for the time using not only superb special effects but also putting them together with strong acting and a good script.

Rex continued successfully in both film and television into the 1960's appearing in productions with some of the biggest names in Cinematic History including Clark Gable, Edmond O'Brien, Rock Hudson, Rhonda Fleming, Dana Andrews, and Jack Palance... to name a few.

Rex made a name for himself not only for his looks and acting talent- but also his commanding voice- using it as a narrator for various projects continued into today.

Rex was once quoted as saying to a reporter "If I couldn't act, I wouldn't know what to do with my life".

Aside from acting- Rex also was a successful real estate broker.

Still involved in various projects- Rex occasionally is a guest at autograph shows and lives with his wife Shirley in Walnut, California.
