Supercar Collectibles' Superstreets

Supercar Collectibles of Minnesota introduced a new series of limited release, specially modified street cars in 2002. The first release was a 1967 Plymouth GTX. It displayed the series' characteristic black paint job, aftermarket wheels, and a detailed, modified 426 Hemi. 2085 of these diecasts were made. Their license plates are from Minnesota and warn "RUNS10S". In every case of 6, one was not finished in black, but rather, the body was polished bare metal, sprayed over with a clearcoat. There were 417 of these "Chase Cars".

The next Mopar in the series is this 1964 Dodge 330 coupe. This beauty has the modest bench seat, a 4-Speed tranny, and exceptionally fine bare metal foil trim. It's 426 Max Wedge block has a pair of 4-bbl carbs on a cross-ram manifold. Released in 2003, its MN plates boldly assert its source of motivation: "2 THE MAX".

No doubt, my favorite diecast in this series, perhaps in all my collection...the 1968 Plymouth Barracuda! There's just something about it that just speaks to me! It's got a whoppin' 440 under the hood, a real mean stance with the Cragars, and quality fit and finish! The rear seat folds down, the VIN tag is readable on the dash, and the 1/18 scale Barracuda emblems are nicely crafted. The Texas license plates simply read "A-BOMB" referring to the fact that the '64 through '69 Barracudas were based on the A-Body platform, along with the Valiant and Dart.

I bought this one of 1002 released beaut's early in 2005. The 1967 Coronet R/T Super Street continued the Supercar Collectibles' series of hopped up black musclecars. With the new "clamshell" packaging, it has no screw holes on the bottom, and has such features as plush carpetting, opening gas cap, and fully plumbed modified 440! The Minnesota plates read "6FD 342".

This is taking the Hemi Dart concept to the street...to the Superstreet, in fact! Its got the Mopar Performance battery in the trunk, the light weight van seats, and the pull-up light racing side glass. One of 1002 produced, this little giant is a quality little diecast; a real keeper! The California plates read "SWEEET".!

Another "what if" Barracuda in this Superstreet series; a 426 Hemi Elephant motor powered '68; the license plates even read "LPHANT". This little number is all black with lots of shiny chrome, and is once again one of only 1002 produced!

The crate engine comes wrapped in a Supersreet 'Cuda! Crunchy outer shell with even crunchier inside! This much awaited 1971 is a mean-looking rendition of this popular Highway 61 casting. The chrome trim and wheels are nicely done, and the engine....wowsers! Its personalized 1971 Minnesota license read "528HEMI".

With Cragar wheels and a painted AAR hood, this 1970 'Cuda boasts "472HEMI" on its Hawaii plates. Released early in 2007, at the same time as the 1971 just above, buying them both was a easy decision.

I really like the job that Highway 61 has done on their version of the 1971 Dodge Challenger. This Superstreet variation of it is one fine looking diecast! Pull the hood pins and reveal the sweet 528 Hemi engine. Very nice! Only 600 of this model were made, making it all that much more special. It bares 1971 California plates that read "HJY 832".

There is so many features that I like about this 1970 Dodge Dart from Highway 61. The 1970 New Mexico license plates read "DARTMAN". Under the hood rests a fully plumbed, nicely detailed, 440 Magnum engine. The chrome, photo etched emblems are nicely applied and the clear coat over the smooth and even black paint finishes off the package perfectly. I'm sure glad that I collect these black Mopar Superstreets!

This is not your typical subject for a 1:18 scale diecast, but no doubt, a popular real world choice for racing back in the mid-60's. There are nice little touches on this 1965 Plymouth Belvedere, like the intricately detailed interior, neat plain black wheels with the massive Goodyear "boots", the spare tire, battery and extra air filters in the trunk, and the detailed 426 Super Stock Hemi. It all makes for a cool looking, monolithic black behemoth. The Minnesota plates simply read "3M TA3".
