Dart

My favorite full scale, and 1:18 scale, Dodge Dart is the 1968 model year. These two GTS's are trimmed with the single horizontal body stripe, for that long, lean look. The top one is actually Turquoise, and is one of only 504 pieces released world wide. The bottom Light Green has a matching interior, and is one of many released late in 2007. Being one of the first Highway 61 Darts released, in 2005, the Turquoise came in an intricate package, having a hard plastic framed window box, with all the car's working parts secured with plastic wrap, as you can tell. The Light Green was less elaborate, and was merely lifted out from its plastic clamshell encasing for these pictures.

Highway 61 hit yet another bullseye with the 1968 Dodge Dart GTS! Along with the usual details, this model has opening vent windows, a removable gas cap, sun visors, a grill you can see the radiator through, and a half full windshield washer reservoir! Wow!

Even with the "dog dish" hubcaps, this bright red 1968 Dart GTS is no "sleeper". The paint, the "383" plaque on the fender and the bold bumble bee stripes would not have fooled any stoplight or drag strip competition!

Racing Green with a black vinyl roof and contrasting white stripe and interior. A very striking color scheme, and very nice detail throughout!

You can call him "Mr.", Mister! This 1968 Dart GSS is hiding a 440 Magnum, a tribute to Mr. Norm Krause, a true Mopar legend!

Built by "backyardconversions.com", this 1968 Dart convertible is one of only 30 built! According to my Certificate of Authenticity, it is #11 of the run.

When unique is what you seek, look no further than Campbell Collectibles! This 2004 Club Mopar Edition, White 1968 GTS raises the bar a little higher with the nicely coordinated color scheme, and the detailing of the emergency brake cables and fuel lines. A real nice find!

Now this is the epitome of Mopar Motivation! This Hurst Shifter equipped, Hemi powered 1968 represented the extent that the Factory was willing to go to ensure a Chrysler was the first one down the 1/4 mile! The original cars were delivered to racers fully primered, with fiberglass front fenders and hood, skinny little tires that were only enough to get the car off the truck into the shop, and big, bold-lettered signage on the windshield warning that the vehicle should only be used on the track! Huh!

This little gem was so popular in 1:18 scale, it was released twice by Supercar Collectibles. The first release in 2004 had an automatic transmission. It also sported the larger sized packaging, emblazoned with the Hurst logo. The second release, in 2008, had a four speed manual, and was in the smaller, more compact package.

The extremely popular casting of the 1968 Superstreet, was used to give us a number of variations on the theme. The orange beaut is one of only 504 made by Highway 61, and has the interesting feature of sporting plastic fenders to go with the plastic hood, mimicking the fiberglass pieces originally worn by the real thing! The black Dart is also one of 504 made, exclusively for MTR Enterprises. Very black, very shiny, very nice!

Swing away Merrill, Swing away...The 1969 Dart Swinger ran circles around the competition in the late 60's.
In 2005, Highway 61 gave us this very unique offering with the optional Mod Top appearance package. The flowery vinyl top was available, way back when from Dodge, in B5 Blue, Sunfire Yellow or Bright Green. This little number is one of only 504 produced.
