Sofia Meets Santa Claus - Grab The Gift and Run!
![]()
Sofia went to see Santa but like many little kids her age was in quite a hurry to get away. She didn't cry though, and I did manage to get this picture. This is a good time of year for Sofia. Between me and her parents she will be celebrating Hanukah, Christmas, and the Russian Orthodox Christmas! Lucky kid!

An Unusual Sight - Sofia Drinking From A Glass
![]()
Sofia still does not drink much, but Momma always has a cup of water available for Sofia who will take a couple or few sips at a time. She does not really drink much in a day, but seems to be getting better at it. At one point, after enjoying a Gingerbread cookie, she actually pointed to the cup (her way of asking for a drink).

It was a cold day with fresh snow on the ground so Momma made sure that Sofia was bundled up warm for the trip to the party. Here she is, all dolled up with her favorite toy and ready to go.

A New 'Trick'! Walking backwards!
![]()
Sofia has found out that she can walk backwards and every so often starts doing just that. She is getting pretty good at it!
Sofia had a great time at the party. She spent a lot of time walking around, investigating people and things, and in general just enjoying herself. Once in a while she would realize that Momma was out of sight, but I was never far behind to steer her in the right direction. In a couple of instances she seemed to know where she was, and which way to go to find Momma.
Usually there is dancing, but this year it didn't seem to get started for some reason. I wanted to be able to dance with her on the floor and was sure that if she saw other kids dancing she would start too. There was one little girl on the floor dancing, and as Sofia walked by, she paused, did a pirouette or two, and then carried on with her exploration. There were too many other things to see and do. Still, it was lovely to see.
