During the third week in June, Sofia and Momma went overseas with Poppa. They will be staying at a seaside resort where Poppa is currently working. It will be a nice break for the three of them because they don't often get to spend a lot of time together. Momma will also take a short trip with Sofia to visit her mother (Baba) in Russia. Sofia will be gone for about two months!!! I'm sure going to miss her!

A PHONE CALL FROM OVERSEAS!

About one week after they left, I received a long distance call from overseas! It was Sofia's Momma letting me know they had arrived OK and that they were having a good time. Sofia didn't seem to be bothered too much by jet lag which is a ten hour difference! Sofia doesn't talk on the phone -- she would rather play with the buttons on it, but when I sing to her on the phone, she stops whatever she is doing and listens intently. I always sing the same thing to her -- "Sing A Song of Sixpence" which she recognizes because I've been singing it to her since she was a few days old. I can also hear her laughing in the background. It will have to be our only means of communication until she returns.

GREAT NEWS!

Although they do not have regular access to the internet, I did receive a lovely e-mail from Momma. She tells me that Sofia can now stand on her own, and gets to a standing position without assistance! It shouldn't be long before Sofia learns to take the first steps on her own. I keep trying to picture it in my mind! Great!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOFIA!

On the 3rd of August Sofia turned two years old! How times flies! I'll have to wait until she returns to give her her Birthday hugs. Oh How I miss her!
