A DAY AT THE PARK

Sofia Is Really Getting Around!

It was a lovely fall day (Early October) and Momma invited me to join her and Sofia at the park! Momma always makes sure that Sofia gets lots of fresh air and exercise.

Sofia loves the slide! We have to help her to the top, but I don't think it will be long before she learns to find her own way. It doesn't have a ladder, but there are a few steps. I help with the 'shortcut' to the top by lifting her there although I did walk her around the long way once. Once seated at the top, she has no qualms or problems about moving ahead to the point where she begins to go down the slide. Her beaming smile and laughter tells us how much she enjoys it.

Sofia is walking quite a bit now. She was having a wonderful time in the park going through the leaves, following Momma like a baby duckling, and working hard to catch up! This is great fun, and she is constantly laughing. She falls once in a while, but picks herself up without a fuss and carries on -- still laughing! On a couple of occasions, probably tired from all the exercise, she attempted to slide around on her behind (her method of crawling), but that didn't last for long -- Momma didn't want Sofia to get her 'mod' pants dirty!

Sofia loves the swing just as much as the slide. She likes when we push her high. I would tease her by tickling her knees as she went by, or sneaking a quick kiss! She smiles and laughs constantly and really enjoys herself.

Tossing leaves in the air and watching them come down is lots of fun for Sofia. She hasn't quite got the coordination yet, but she sees Momma and I doing it and tries to copy. It's hard to get a handful with such tiny hands but she'll be doing it herself before long. All the while she is smiling and laughing -- having a wonderful time. It's beautiful to hear.
