ONE YEAR OLD! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

How Time Flies!

A Birthday Party for Sofia!

Sofia's Poppa, Momma and I took Sofia to a very fancy Brunch at one of the local hotels. While Momma and Poppa went to fill their plates, I gave Sofia a taste of raspberry jam which she loved. When I went to fill my plate, I brought back some whipped cream for her. She had a little of this, and a little of that, and had a very good time.

Sofia had such a good time on the swing at the park that I rushed out the next day and bought this one so she could have fun at home too. Poppa and I set it up while Sofia was out with Momma. We went out for lunch, and when we came back Sofia was home again, swinging away with an 'ear to ear' smile! The swing hangs from two Jolly Jumper door clips -- I found the second clip at a thrift store.

Momma brought Sofia to a barbecue at my brother's. This was a very special occasion for me because none of my family had met Sofia yet, except my Mom, and that had been ten months ago! Sofia amazed us. She was very smily and was happy to go from person to person. She would laugh when anyone around her laughed, and chattered far more than usual. She had a taste of this and that and all in all had a very good time. She was a real 'life-of-the party' -- I think she's going to be a regular party animal! I was so proud to be able to show her off to my family! Momma, too, was very proud, and like me, amazed at Sofia's sociability.

Sofia really has a good time when I take her for a walk. Last week, because the air was full of smoke from nearby forest fires, I took her to a fantastic atrium downtown -- a beautiful indoor place with lovely plants, waterfalls, goldfish, and even a playground. As you can see here, she is very flexible and can almost reach behind her head with her feet!

We were naughty! On the way home I stopped and bought a small baby soft ice-cream cone and fed some of it to Sofia! She had never had anything cold before, and really enjoyed it. I told Momma when we got home and really caught heck! No sweets! OK -- now I know! Next time I can give her Yogurt for a treat, but no sugars!!! What are Grampa's for anyways??
