Nothing Like a Good Meal, A Drink, and a Snooze!

A well sated Sofia now rests in the comfort of her Momma's arms. She has already smiled a few times, but is still recovering from the anaesthetic and falls asleep easily. There are remnant signs of a black marker which was used to put an 'X' over the eye on which the surgery was performed.

Bouncing Back - We Are So Relieved!

Sofia is doing very well. She still has to finish her IV which takes quite a while, and does this while snuggled comfortably. Momma keeps the wet compress over her repaired eye too keep the swelling down. After the IV finishes, Sofia awakens in good spirits. She is smiling and waving Hello to everyone. At 4PM we change her back into street clothes and Momma and 'Baba' take her home. We thank the nurses who gave Sofia such great attention. Momma and Baba took her straight home -- I went ahead, stopping at the drugstore to have her prescriptions filled.

Home Sweet Home - A Happy Ending!

Sofia is home again! When I got back from the drugstore this is what I saw. For the next couple of days we will have to keep her indoors to avoid dust blowing in the wind. She also has eye drops which contain an antibiotic and a painkiller. Care must also be taken to keep soap from her eyes which means her hair cannot be washed with soap for a couple of days. All in all though, Sofia has recovered well and as you can see, she is once again a happy little girl. The black 'X' above her eye will wear off in a day or so! Her eyes will be checked again in two weeks.
