Sofia Meets Santa Claus
On December 7th we took Sofia to the Ups and Downs Children's Christmas Party. I had a great time taking Sofia around and showing her off. We, Momma and I, now know a few of the other parents and had a good time. Momma was very proud of her little girl! The Santa was fantastic -- he was straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting, and was very good with the kids. He made sure to take the extra little time to give the parents a chance to get the photo they wanted. Sofia's photo turned out great -- I took four or five and this was the best. Sofia's Poppa won't be home till next week, but he will be here until after Christmas so I think its going to be a good one for Sofia. Between me and her parents she will be celebrating Hanukah, Christmas, and the Russian Orthodox Christmas! Lucky kid!

Good News!
The NG tube is still out! Sofia is still not drinking, but she gets enough liquid in her foods to compensate. Momma watches her very closely to make sure she does not get dehydrated.

Sofia Gets Her Ears Examined
Look at the expression on Sofia's face. She didn't really care for the examination although she fussed much less than I thought she would. She was staring hard at me as if to say "Hey! Grampa! Help me out of this, will you?!"
On the previous page we mentioned our concern re Sofia's hearing and the fluid in her her ears. This morning Momma and I took her to the Calgary Children's Hospital where Dr Lange checked things out. At the moment, the fluid buildup does not seem too serious, and we will keep an eye on her, and there will be a follow up visit in a couple of weeks or so. We also know from a hearing test that Sofia can hear quite well, although at the moment the fluid may reduce it somewhat.

A New 'Trick'!
Sofia is getting good at clapping her hands for anything that pleases her. It is her kind of 'sign' language. She also waves "Hi" and "Bye Bye!"
