I'm Suddenly A 'Self-Appointed' Grampa!

Sofia was born August 3rd, 2002. She has Down Syndrome (DS) and was in dire need of heart surgery. I was a friend of her parents, and went to the Children's Hospital to see her. From the moment I picked her up to cuddle her, I knew I was a goner! I devote this website to telling her story -- it's remarkable. She's a real lovable toughie!

This is Sofia's story. I am just a friend of the family, but fell in love with Sofia right after her birth. I will be playing a big part in her life -- hoping to give back to her, all that she has done for me. Because she has no Grandparents in Canada, I have assumed the role of 'Grampa'. I hope to be as much a Grampa to her as my Grandma was to me, and I had a marvellous Grandma! It's going to be a big job, not always easy, but at the same time it will be a labor of love -- and she is very lovable!
