I first visited Fiji in 1989 on the way to New Zealand and Australia, and my subsequent trips to Solomon Islands take me in and out of Fiji every time, so it has become almost a second home. I've met some pretty wonderful people over the course of multiple visits, and it was Fiji that taught me to slow down, relax, and smell the roses.
