In these series of male portraits I tried to capture the 'male essence', expressed through emotion. The portraits are bold, with strong colors and painted in an abstract expressionist style. I like the contrast of the roughness, almost a violence of shapes and color and the hint of vulnerability and emotional need in the man's expression.

This is a very striking painting/drawing on paper. The ink line drawing is spontaneous and raw and very expressive. The acrylic paint is bright and vibrant and gives the painting texture. The heavy weight paper shows through in many places providing additional texture and interest. This painting is on paper so you will have to have it framed. You can get quite a different 'look' with different frames - see some examples below.
