Online Miniatures Information Source

There's probably a million places on the web for information about miniatures and how to paint them, and, as I am fast learning, also how to modify and sculpt your own. Since my artistic talents can best be described as "horrendously abysimal" I am currently staying away from any attempts at sculpting. However, what I will present here are as many links to as many online resources for painting miniatures as I can find.

If you follow these links, and follow where they lead, you will have at your fingertips a lifetimes worth of reading on how to paint miniatures. However, reading about it doesn't accomplish anywhere near the same as real practice does. Look, read, learn, do. That's the only way to really get good. Oh, and if you can actually take lessons from someone else, that helps a huge amount as well!

There are various newsgroups that also have thousands of people ready to talk to you and help you with any and every aspect of painting miniatures. I believe that the main one is {rec.games.miniatures.misc} although {rec.games.frp.misc} may also be of some help.

One last suggestion is to go into your favorite web search engine (I like to use Google) and see what it comes up with for keywords like "miniature painting", "painting miniatures", and the like.

Eventually there will be some thoughts here on how I do my basing.
