A Calgary tradition since 1968, Foothills
Concert Band is first and foremost about playing music. While this
may seem obvious, other bands make their primary focus education
or socialising. While both those elements have a place in our band,
our band is keen on making music with a high level of musicianship.
Over the course of the year, we hope to grow as a group and as individual
musicians.
We contribute to the community by playing numerous concerts
in the Calgary area, including free concerts in extended care and
assisted living facilities, as well as in public places like Heritage
Park. We are also pursuing joint concerts with school groups and
other community music organisations of a similar nature. “Serving
the community through music” is
our motto.
