Yours truly, sailing just North of Pender Island near the West entrance to Active Pass in the Gulf Island off Canada's West Coast.

The vessel "Little Friend" is a 34ft, steel hulled, Roberts design sloop.

We purchased the boat in Prince Rupert.  At that time I had only been on a sailboat once and my wife had never even been on a boat.  Our first trip to Vancouver after purchasing it was basically uneventful it took us eleven days including two days when we were weathered out in Port Hardy.  I credit the Power Squadron Courses that we completed prior to the venture for our safe passage.

As a point of interest the name refers to fighter escorts during the second world war the bomber crews referred to them as our "Little Friends"
