Harold and Angie bought their first German
Shepherd shortly after getting married in 1988.
Jessie was of Schutzhund
lines, and proved to be a very high energy dog, which Harold took into
CKC obedience, only to find this wasn't enough for her. Luckily someone
in the obedience class spoke about a local Schutzhund Club and suggested
they check this out.

Harold and Angie joined the newly formed Winnipeg Working Dog Club along with founding members, Richard & Maureen Seier. In 1992, they entered both the Accreditation Trial and the Schutzhund Trial receiving their first BH on both their dogs, Vello v Norbreeze and Devon von Kandak (known as Duke) under SV Judge Doug Deacon.
In July 1993, Angie & Harold made a trip
to the Alberta Schutzhund Association club (ASA) and obtained their first
titles on both Duke and Vello, making them the first members of the WWDC
to attain Schutzhund titles. In the fall of 1993, both Angie &
Duke and Harold & Vello attained their SchH2 under SV Judge Doug Deacon.
Harold & Vello also won the
President's Cup for the WWDC dog
and handler attaining the highest score in one calendar year.

Angie & Duke and Harold & Vello went on to achieve their SchH3 with Duke taking home the trophies (HS Tracking, HS Obedience, HS Protection, HS SchH3 and High in Trial). In that same trial, Angie attained a BH on her new prospect, Sira von Haus Antverpa, who was imported from Haus Antverpa Kennels in Belgium.
In 1996, due to career developments, Harold and Angie moved to Calgary, joining up with the GSDC of Calgary. Angie & Sira went on to attain their SchH1, SchH2 and SchH3 in 1998, and after several injuries Sira was retired in 1999. Following her early retirement, Sira was bred three times under the kennel name 'von Trostberg'.
Harold and Vello went on to attain their SchH3 several times and in 1997 became the Prairie Regional Champions and competed in the Canadian GSD Championships twice. After retiring Vello, Harold continued his success with his female, Heike vom Kraftwerk, attaining her BH under SV Judge Frank Mensing and later obtaining her SchH1 (HS SchH1) at the Lower Mainland German Shepherd Dog Club under SV Judge Raino Flügge. Heike was bred to Wanda Rose's Gero vom Körbeltal, SchH3 (2x WUSV competitor), which produced four pups; Delta, Dallas, Demi and Drisco.
The spring of 2006 once again brought a move for the Tennant clan. This time making it all the way to the Vancouver area, where Harold and Angie joined the Lower Mainland German Shepherd Dog Club and went on to achieve great success with both V-Delta v Trostberg, SchH3, KKL1 and SG-Idschi vom Suhler Wappen, SchH3. Thanks to the many members of Lower Mainland for your friendship and support during our short stay with you. We unfortunately had to once again make a move due to work, this time heading east to the Toronto area. We will miss you all and wish you much success until we meet again!
In the fall of 2009, they joined up with the members of Saugeen Schutzhund Club in hopes of continuing with our training. Harold is still working with Idschi and Angie is now working with Delta's daughter, Fara von Trostberg. Fara has big paws to fill, but looks like she's up for the challenge.
A special thank you to those who have helped us over the years: Eki Itkonin, Dorwin Anderson, Ken Trouton, Mo Sutherland & Chris Arduini, Thomas Schoder, Ken Wood, Peter Tse, Ralph Gilby, Pat Brown-John, Frank Mensing, Doug Deacon, Dave Palmer, Wayne Carnegie, Günther Diegel, Reinhard Lindner, Thomas Lapp and many more. Without your help and support we would not have come this far, thank you!
