Another great weekend of watching NHRA drag racing.
After the death of funny car driver Scott Kalitta in
June, the NHRA decided to shorten
the length of the actual race to 1000 feet instead
of the normal 1320 feet (1/4 mile).
This has made the elapsed times shorter for the races
and a lower top speed.
The ET is about .6 of a second less for TF and 15
to 20 mph slower.
It is not something that you even notice except for
trying to keep it straight in the old brain.
This is only for Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars
(Nitromethane class).
