Although
originally designed for the AMF-S14, the F30 float
design is adaptable to any amateur-built aircraft whose gross weight lies
between 1000 - 1500 lbs.* These floats have been installed on numerous AMF-S14, F11, seen here on a Christavia, and are currently being
adapted for the Cub Major. F30 floats are very clean
aerodynamically. The all wood construction is of spruce and
plywood. Exterior surfaces are well sanded with coarse garnet paper prior
to being coated with fiberglass and HIPEC
Top Coat. All structure inside is thoroughly coated with HIPEC Clear,
which is impervious to moisture, gasoline and micro-organisms.
Properly
built and finished, F30 floats should withstand the severest abuse with a
minimum of maintenance, even in seawater! Small breaks in the floats due
to rocks can easily be repaired with fiberglass cloth and HIPEC. Additionally, the bottom
third volume of the F30 float can be filled with closed cell plastic foam.

Each
F30 float has nine waterproof compartments, each with its own access
cover. Fittings are simple and rugged. Only one large water rudder
need to be installed, although if two are preferred, this merely requires the
fabrication of the necessary extra metal parts. The weight of the floats,
ready for installation is 160 -170 lbs with fittings.
PLANS FEATURES:
The plans are clear and
complete,
Nearly all fittings are
shown in full size,
All parts are reference
numbered,
The installation drawing
shows rigging of all struts and wires,
Installation to other
aircraft would follow the same principles,
Details of water rudder
control and retraction are shown,
A six page manual
showing construction notes,
Sample weight and
balance supplement,
Flight notes, and
Variations for aircraft
of 1000 to 1800 lbs gross weight.*

the builder prefer to purchase the finished metal fittings from us, we would be
