Designed as a lighthouse tender,
but also as a backup to Britannia, the Britich Royal Yacht. 1955: Delivered to the Northern Lighthouse Board; the eighth NLB ship to bear the name. 1963: Damaged by fire while in drydock at Troon. 1988: Sold to Windjammer Cruises, Freeport, Bahamas; renamed Orient Express and rebuilt into a cruise and supply vessel. 1988: Sold to Amazing Grace SA (R.G Garza Inc, managers), Panama and renamed Amazing Grace (continuing in service for Windjammer). 1994: Sold to Shower Holding Inc (International Maritime Resources Inc, managers), Malebo (continuing in service for Windjammer). 2001-02-19: Sold to International Maritime Resources Ltd., Port of Spain (continuing in service for Windjammer). 2002-10-31 to 2003-01-29: Sailed a trip from Port of Spain, Trinidad to Tahiti and return. |
