with a single ship. In 1989, Carnival purchased Holland America and the associated Windstar Cruises. Purchased a 50% share in Costa
Crociere in 1997, and later acquired the remaining 50%. In 1996, Carnival
acquired 50% of Seabourn Cruise Line, and aquired the
remainder with their purchase of Cunard in 1999. On
April 17, 2003, Carnival Corp. merged with P&O Princess Cruises, adding
Princess Cruises, P&O
Cruises, Ocean Village, Swan Hellenic, and Aida
(Seetours) to the family.

Founded in 1966 offering weekly Caribbean cruises out of
Miami. Acquired by Effjohn International in 1987. Merged with Bermuda Star

acquired by a group of Miami investors. Declared bankruptcy in December 2000,
suspended operations on Dec. 27.

1992 with the delivery of Crown Jewel. When Commodore was not up to the task
of marketing an upscale line, they turned to Cunard. The line failed quickly,
