1980-12-22: Launched. 1981-12-05: Delivered to Hapag-Lloyd AG, Bremen, Germany. 1982-01-08: Entered service cruising worldwide. 1992-04-30: Collided east of Hong Kong with the Greek container ship Inchon Glory. Towed to Kaohsiung, Taiwan, to disembark passengers. 1992-07-07: Returned to service following repairs in Singapore. 1998-04-05: Sold to Star Cruises, Nassau, Bahamas, but chartered back to Hapag-Lloyd to complete her booked cruises. Planned name was MegaStar Asia. 1999-06-30: Arrived in Hamburg at the end of her last cruise for Hapag-Lloyd. 1999-07-01: Renamed SuperStar Europe. 1999-07-06: Departed for Asia. 1999-07-31: Arrived at Sembawang yard in Singapore for rebuild. 1999-10: Entered service for Star Cruises from Laem Chabang. 2000-02: Renamed SuperStar Aries. 2001-03-09: It was announced that SuperStar Aries would be transferred to Orient Lines in May 2002 and renamed Ocean Voyager. 2001-09-20: It was announced that the transfer to Orient Lines
would be
delayed by one year. Subsequently, the transfer was cancelled
altogether. 2004-05-10: Sold to Pullmantur and renamed Holiday Dream. 2004-06: Refurbished. |
