Robinson Ergonomics Inc. was incorporated in British Columbia in 2000 by Dan Robinson, PhD CCPE. Robinson Ergonomics provides personalized ergonomics consulting, design, research and training to a strong base of customers in the Greater Vancouver Region and throughout British Columbia, Alberta, and the US Pacific Northwest.
Robinson Ergonomics Inc. and Dan Robinson have experience in a broad range of environments that includes: office, construction, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, banking, municipal and provincial government, utilities, mining, forestry, military, laboratory, library, performing arts, warehouse and distribution, marine, and technology development.
Dr. Dan Robinson is a Canadian Certified Professional Ergonomist (CCPE) and Practicing Kinesiologist (BC Association of Kinesiologists) who has been consulting and performing research in ergonomics/human factors since 1989. Dan completed both PhD and MSc in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University, and BSc in Biochemistry at the University of British Columbia.
Dan’s professional affiliations include:
- Member of the Board of the Canadian College for Certification of Professional Ergonomists (CCCPE);
- Fellow and Past-president of the Association of Canadian Ergonomists (ACE);
- Member of ACE BC-YK Regional Council;
- Member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES),
- Registered Member of the BC Association of Kinesiologists
Dan is a volunteer member/chair of Standards Council of Canada Advisory Committees to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) on risk management (ISO RMWG), human response to vibration and mechanical shock (TC108), and ergonomics (TC159). Dan is a member of the WorksafeBC Human Factors Community of Practice and is registered with several Michael Smith Foundation Research Networks, including: the Disabilities Health Research Network; BC Environmental and Occupational Health Research Network; and BC Network of Aging Research.
Dan is an instructor of Ergonomics for SFU’s Rehabilitation Management Diploma Program and an instructor in Environmental Human Factors for Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Interior Design degree program. He has been an Adjunct Professor in UBC’s Faculty of Graduate Studies and SFU’s Faculty of Applied Science. Prior to founding Robinson Ergonomics Inc., Dan was a Senior Ergonomist in the Ergonomics and Human Factors Group at BC Research Inc. for nearly a decade, and Coordinator of SFU’s Institute for Human Performance.
