Global Diplomacy
Overview
Ratings:
 Low complexity
 High diplomacy

In GLOBAL DIPLOMACY each player guides the destiny of one of the Great Powers of the late nineteenth century : Austria, China, England, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Ottoman Empire, Russia, Spain, Portugal and the USA. Players must use their political skill and cunning as well as their military might (armies, corps, fleets and squadrons) to become the dominant global power. This is a low complexity, introductory game. The average player would require about 30 minutes to prepare their turn orders.

Turns are run once per week or twice per week.

Variants
Head to Head
The head to head variant is a 2-player version in which turns run as soon as both players have submitted orders.
Global Diplomacy 2
Global Diplomacy 2 uses the same rules, but a revised map for more balanced play.
Global Diplomacy: Ancient Mediterranean
The Ancient variant is set in 305 BC and uses a map of the Mediterranean basin area. The rules are the same except capitals are worth 3 victory points instead of 5.
Age of Discovery
Age of Discovery uses the same rules, but has a random map and startup positions for each game. Most of the map is initially unexplored.
