MailBot Commands

Overview

The mailbot operates by looking at the subject of the message they receive. The address to send messages to is:

This address is automatically monitored and will send back confirmations if it receive messages with valid subjects.

If you do not get a confirmation back, then you sent in an invalid mailbot command.

Commands

The following are a list of the commands that the mailbot will respond to when they are in the subject line of the message.

The mailbot will process any message sent to emg.pbm@shaw.ca that contains one of the above commands in the subject line of the message.

Note that you can send in commands from any email address and have reports, data files, etc sent to any email address, it does not have to be the same as you signed up with.

The mailbot processes commands every 10 minutes.

EMGCOM

To have a current copy of your commands sent to you, mail the following message to the mailbot address.

The subject line of your message must say EMGCOM. The first line of the message must say EMGSTART, then the second line must be your Account ID, the third line must be the Game ID, and finally end with EMGEND. Spacing and indentation doesn't matter. For example:

	   Subject: EMGCOM

		EMGSTART          
		  ABC1234 
		  GD001 
		EMGEND
EMGDATA

To have a current copy of your data file sent to you, mail the following message to the mailbot addresses.

The subject line of your message must say EMGDATA. The first line of the message must say EMGSTART, then the second line must be your Account ID, the third line must be the Game ID, and finally end with EMGEND. Spacing and indentation doesn't matter. For example:

	   Subject: EMGDATA

		EMGSTART          
		  ABC1234 
		  GD001 
		EMGEND
EMGMSG

This command is used in blind games to send messages to other players. In blind games all players are anonymous, and must use this command to communicate.

The subject line of your message must say EMGMSG. The first line of the message must say EMGSTART, then the second line must be your Account ID, the third line must be the Game ID, the fourth line is the country name for who the message is going to, then include your message and finally end with EMGEND. Spacing and indentation doesn't matter. For example:

	   Subject: EMGMSG

		EMGSTART          
		  ABC1234 
		  GD001 
                  ENGLAND
                  Hi there, want to ally?
		EMGEND

So this would send a message to the English player in games GD001, the message also shows which country sent the message.

EMGREPORT

To have a current copy of your report sent to you, mail the following message to the mailbot addresses.

The subject line of your message must say EMGREPORT. The first line of the message must say EMGSTART, then the second line must be your Account ID, the third line must be the Game ID, and finally end with EMGEND. Spacing and indentation doesn't matter. For example:

	   Subject: EMGREPORT

		EMGSTART          
		  ABC1234 
		  GD001 
		EMGEND
EMGTURN

To send in your turn commands, mail the following message to the mailbot addresses.

Turns can be handed in multiple times, with each new set of commands, overwriting the entire previous set of commands.

The subject line of your message must say EMGTURN. The first line of the message must say EMGSTART, then the second line must be your Account ID, the third line must be the Game ID, then place commands one per line, and finally end with EMGEND. Spacing and indentation doesn't matter. For example:

	   Subject: EMGTURN

		EMGSTART          
		  ABC1234 
		  GD001 
                    MO 1 45
                    DW 3
                    SP 10 23 34
                    DA 1		
		EMGEND
EMGWATCH

You can have the common sections of any GD/GD2 game report sent to you. Those are the sections that everyone sees, such as the relations between Countries and the Headlines.

Mail the following message to the mailbot addresses.

The subject line of your message must say EMGWATCH game-id, where game-id is the id of the GD/GD2 game you are interested in getting.

Example

Nothing has to be in the body of the message.
