Olympic Torch Relay Celebration, Edward Milne Community School, Sooke, October 31, 2009

The EKOOS vocal ensemble in Sooke on Vancouver Island consists of a group of singers who enjoy performing a wide variety of choral music, mostly a cappella.

Where did the name Ekoos come from?

You can decide from the following possibilities which Ken Gray suggested early on when Ekoos was formed:

A cryptic religious anagram.
A school for the performing arts in New York City.
Greek chamber music using the Hexachord.
Turkistan throat singing.
The name of Tonto's horse.
Sooke spelled backwards.

Ekoos would like to acknowledge the West Shore Arts Council  for the financial and other support it has provided to us, and other Arts organizations in our region.
The Arts enrich the lives of all of us!
