Welcome to Eileen's Place

Hi! I'm glad you stopped by!  Please let me introduce myself.

I'm Eileen, mother of two wonderful daughters - Kelly  and Shanna - and grandmother of a wonderful grandson - Xander Ashton Merx - and they are all my life!!!

Shanna is a hairstylist, and Kelly is on her parental leave now to look after Xander. Otherwise, she is one of those people you love and need - a senior technical service rep for the Internet.

I work full-time as an insurance salesperson, which I thoroughly enjoy.

Nanaimo, B.C., Canada We live in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada.  It's on Vancouver Island, population 75,000.  It's a very pretty place, with a magnificent harbour.  From here, we  have easy access, via car, bus or train, to Victoria (the capital of BC) and by ferry to Vancouver, the metropolis, where we can enjoy major theatre productions and a vast diversity of shopping centres.  We are also surrounded by nature - lots of yet unexplored and unexploited lands and parks!

Four years ago, I became addicted to genealogy.  I'm at a bit of a standstill right now, but I'll NEVER give up!!  The internet has been a remarkable source of information for me.  You'll find my family history and family photos on my Family Research pages, as well as links to my favourite and incredible genealogy sites.

Crafts
Being the crafty devil that I am, I can get carried away with various crafts, primarily miniatures and dollhouses, but also cross-stitch, sewing, knitting, crocheting, etc., etc. ~ whatever happens to feel right for the moment. Check out my pages for free dollhouse printables.
I love cats!

Since I was 15, I've had at least one cat in my life.   If you want to see them, as well as other cats I have had the pleasure of loving, you'll find them on My Cats page.
