ARLE CLARKE HOUSE
Voted
#3 Best B&B Breakfast in Canada by InnTraveler
We love breakfast: the polished silver, the bright table linens, the
fresh flowers, and of course...the food! At Earle Clarke House, we feature local
specialties, organically-grown whenever possible. Depending on the season, our
guests feast on wild or locally grown berries and fruit, fireweed honey, free-range
eggs, wild B.C. smoked salmon, maple syrup, Vancouver Island cheeses and chemical-free
bacon and sausages. The plums, rhubarb, fresh herbs and edible flowers we serve
come straight from our own gardens. Joyce makes all our jams and jellies and times
her baking to arrive fresh and hot out of the oven.
Our menu changes daily and ranges from traditional favourites -- like pancakes, French toast and classic omelettes -- to unconventional breakfast adaptations of polenta, gazpacho, wild "Oregon grape" jelly, and fruit salads with a hint of homemade lavender syrup. Everything is served on the big mahogany table in our heritage-designated dining room.
