Currently the only book detailing most of the grenades used by US forces over the
years. Covers Civil war to current. A must have for your

A translation of two
Soviet grenade manuals, some excellent illustrations of the internal workings of the main
Soviet grenades. One of the manuals was dated 1944, the other 1974. A good
piece of reference material, available from Paladin Press.

Written in Italian and French
this book covers Italian grenades of the First World War. Some of the strangest
looking contraptions you can imagine are detailed in this book. Excellent photos and
diagrams. A must have for your ordnance library. Now out of print if
you can find one grab it.

Author Stuart Macrea.
The author was Second in Command of MD1 during the
Second World War. MD1 produced much if not all of the clandestine warfare material
for the British Forces during the war. Many of the devices were adopted by American
forces as well. This book gives a history of MD1 and describes the development of
many items. A very easy read you will be surprised how much you learn!
Out of print it may be difficult to find, if you do, buy it and guard it. A must
have.

Produced by the British Government these are the best reference material
you can find on British Ordnance. They were produced at intervals and all are
excellent. Don't pass these up if you find one.

Author Ian Skennerton.
If you want to know anything about the Lee Enfield or
the accessories that go with it, this is the book. Has a good chapter on the
dischargers and grenades used with the Lee Enfield. This one is out of print and
hard to find. If you can find one its a keeper.

Author Mike Pickett.
A good little handbook for those that may occasionally
come across explosives in one form or the other. Not designed for the collector but
more for the First Responder that might run into the items. Does not go into great
depth on any items, it is a good reference as to what an item may be and which ones to
leave alone and refer to experts. Lots of photos!

A good book on some of the
interesting devices developed for the trench fighting of the First War. Sections on
improvised grenades, rifle and hand grenades, trench mortars, grenade throwers,
flamethrowers and other things. A good book for your library. Published in
1999 this one is still available.

Mark Seaman.
Despite its title, this is an excellent book. It
is basically a reprint of a WWII catalogue of devices used by British
Agents. Some of the strangest devices, how about an exploding
rat?? Incendiary Cigarettes?? Interesting, if you can find
one, its an interesting book that should be in your library.

Another great book!! This book
is written in German but has a table included that translates the most
important information into three other languages, English, Italian, and
French, a very useful tool. The book covers the fuzes in use by the
Swiss Army from 1848 to 2000. The book contains a great Grenade
section, also sections on Boobytrap and Demolition igniters, Detonators,
Mine fuzes, and of course Artillery fuzes. Over 300 pages with
colour photos and drawings throughout. Well worth adding to your
library.

A great reference book to add to your collection.
Written in Bulgarian but with some English parts and English comments on
all photos and diagrams. Many many photos of grenades and fuzes,
many never seen in print before. A very useful book. Covers
the period 1885 to 1945.

Russian Archives. There is a historical review and catalogue of

Italy, British, US, and others. Contains much information never
before published. Many photos and diagrams. Well worth adding
to your library.
