Preparing to host the Canadian GSD Championships took up most of our time during the past year and our hard work paid off 2006 will go down as the largest nationals to date! A lot of work, but wow what a train ride! Thanks to all the volunteers who rolled up their sleeves and pitched in to help.

A good year for our member Brian Currey and his Bouvier Ali Shaba de Tremauden, SchH3 who received a score of 270 at the Prairie Regional Championships and 4th place at the GSD Championships with 271. Congratulations. Brian is now working with his young female Diva as well as Ali.

Canine friends gone but not forgotten this year were:  Wayne Carnegie - Bach von Lenzerhof, SchH3, Dan Waters -Tess, SchH2, Wade Waters – Showorks Justice, SchH2 and Diane Carnegie – Carly von Norbreeze, SchH1.

On a happier note most now have young dogs to work with. Dan with a female offspring of Tess; Wade and Grissom and Wayne with Becker. Good luck in your future endeavours.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Garry Weinmeyer. A hard working man, there wasn’t a job he couldn’t or wouldn’t tackle.  Our thoughts are with his son Shane and the entire Weinmeyer family.

The Honour Guard consisted of Jan Hrouda (GSDC of Calgary), Peter Tse and Corporal Mike Diehl (Indianapolis, Indiana).

Garry was the initial owner and trainer of Stormfront’s Brawnson. Sire: Arko Honest, SchH3 (owner Jan Hrouda) x Dam: Maja v Fuschgraben, SchH1 (owner/breeder Dave Grant). Brawnson was then sold to Mike Diehl of the Indianapolis Sheriff’s Dept. The legacy of Stormfront’s Brawnson, SchH3, DPO2, WPO, FH2 will live on through his progeny. Garry’s dog ‘Kutter’ (a Brawnson son) now resides with Mike.

Thanks to our club helpers Wade Waters, Brian Currey and Wayne Carnegie for without you, we have no club.

One more trial left in Edmonton and that about covers it for this year.

Until next time…………….
