DEBBIE REYNOLDS
I started in the sport in May of 1989. My first seminar was with Rudi Muller and at that time I had a Rottweiler Baxter. Unfortunately his heart ruptured in Feb 1990. I then acquired another Rottweiler Ch. Shar-Lar's Christmas Holly who achieved her SchH1 at 2 years of age. A fun dog to learn with, but she wasn't strong enough to carry on to further titles. I did continue to train her and traveled with the Super Dog Show for four years. Great fun!
April 1, 1992 my first GSD was born - Kiefer vom Erzgebirge. In his short life of 5 months, Kiefer was the dog that made me fall in love with GSD's. He was full of fun and drive!
I then purchased Mongus vom Bergblick from Lance Collins. We attained our SchH1, 2 and 3 in a short period of time when he was only 4 years old.
I trained a young female for Sherry Spring, Breeze von Lenzerhof to a SchH1. She was returned to Sherry to motherhood and retirement. Breeze was such a fun dog to work and live with-I really miss her!
I then went through a period of many dogs, Easy, X-Man, Kai, Queue, Happy, etc. all going before the age of four years until I was able to keep my current dog, Alfie vom Wildstieg, SchH2 alive and well into his 6th year (and still going strong!), now retired except for some fun bites!
I have received my Bronze Sports Medal and now spend my time volunteering as GSSCC Secretary and Regional Show Director. I am also one of the Sports Medal Coordinators and help Diane with Shepherd Sports.
Even though the above reads like a sad Harlequin romance novel - I really have had fun in the sport and each and every dog has taught me so much. I am currently exploring the idea of getting a new puppy as I am getting itchy feet to get back on the competition field.
