Three of us made the trip; John from Ottawa,  Peter from Vancouver and myself from Victoria. We met on a supported cycling trip in Tibet in 2000. Since then on our own we have made annual six week cycling trips to southeast Asia , China and South America. The links section contains links to descriptions of some of our other trips.

We flew from Canada to Mumbai (Bombay), India via London, England with a stopover in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We travelled by train from Mumbai to Madras (Chennai). We then travelled south along the east coast to the southern tip of India then north along the west coast to Goa, a distance of approximately 2000 kilometers. We cycled just over half of the 2000 kilometers. Various parts of the other half was travelled by 3 wheel truck, SUV, boat and train. This trip was somewhat based on a trip described by Mr Pumpy

On this and previous trips we encountered interesting conditions, places and people (both local people and other travellers). This has made the trips an enjoyable and interesting experience.
