An arrangement of pigments and a blank surface face me and a wheel starts moving, beginning another and another and glimpses from everyday life sieved through my imagination stream from the pencil in my hand onto paper on the table in front of me. A scene begins to come to life revealing a world of whimsical curiosities and imagination. Pigment makes its way on there and then something happens. The beginnings of a story are formed and drawings begin to form personalities and histories.
Finding myself with a passionate necessity to create tangible forms from these imaginings I design from dishes to the very rooms they exist in. Assortments of collected objects and materials develop into curious things and whimsical characters from these pages.
I utilize my knowledge of classic methods and techniques towards contemporary approaches to design in a varied array of traditional and modern mediums consisting of watercolor, acrylic, oil, digital painting and illustration, ceramic and polymer clay sculpture, encompassing into works of fine art, illustrated fiction, puppetry, and filmmaking.
