Blood Mania
(Robert O’Neal; 1970)
(Rhino Home Video)
-Overview-
Young doctor Craig Cooper is assistant to Ridgeley Waterman, head of a Los Angeles hospital. Until the elder man’s stroke which keeps him confined to his residence, Cooper has managed to shake off the advances of Victoria, Waterman’s daughter. When Cooper is contacted by an old acquaintance who is determined to blackmail him with some information from his past, he discovers that he is suddenly in dire need of $50,000. Victoria offers to help Cooper get the money, but for a price. He is to have an affair with her. Boredom ensues.
Sometimes I really wonder who thinks up this tripe. Horribly written, full of plot holes and inconsistencies, devoid of virtually any blood whatsoever despite the promise of said “Mania” and just plain dull. The only saving grace is that there’s tons of T&A throughout the film. Don’t bother.
