-Overview-
Returning to the tropical island where her parents were murdered, and aided by a mercenary squad, a woman discovers an evil Voodoo priest who is resurrecting the dead as sinister revenge on mankind.
Rumors have it that this one is much better than Zombi 3, but I found them both about equal. It’s gory and cheesy, and the acting is absolutely pathetic. The plot is full of holes and the premise is as thin as can be. This one is sadly devoid of T&A and some scenes could have (should have?) been gorier, considering the genre the filmmakers were trying to emulate. Something I should mention is that this isn't a zombie film to watch if you're expecting the classic shambling, moaning undead. These are essentially zombie ninjas, like in Zombi 3. Take that as you may. One thing that irritates me is blatant ignorance and inaccuracies in films, even in films as z-grade as this one. In one instance, the woman whom the plot revolves around stumbles upon a table with a number of lit candles set in a semi circle atop it. She quickly explains that it’s the “Circle of Satan… a Voodoo ritual”. Now this may be a tad anal of me, but when has Voodoo ever been associated with Devil worship? News to me. Just one of many campy tidbits that await the viewer with Zombie 4.
