The Unholy

(Camilo Vila; 1987)

(Magna Pacific)

 (PAL, Region 4)

-Overview-

Father Michael, a priest who survived being pulled through a 17th floor window is believed to be blessed by the church and is awarded his own parish. Unfortunately, said parish has a dark past. It seems that it was closed due to the two previous priests having been murdered during the Holy week. Millie, a girl who is working in a Satanic night club across the street believes that a demon called The Unholy is responsible for the murders. It’s up to Father Michael to face the temptation of The Unholy licking his thighs….

This is an unknown, underrated gem. Plenty of gore and creepy visuals, and a hottie demon chick are what can be expected in this one. The acting is well done and it actually has a decent story. They don’t make horror films like this one anymore, kiddies. Required viewing.

-Sound-

Dolby Digital 2.0

-Picture-

Anamorphic widescreen 1.85:1

A decent transfer, but there’s a bit of distortion and artifacting. The colors are a bit off, but not enough to detract from the enjoyment of the film.
