Re-Animator (Millennium Edition)

(Stuart Gordon; 1985)

(Elite Entertainment)

-Overview-

Ahh, a film that truly needs no introduction to the initiated….. Stuart Gordon’s classic rendition of H.P. Lovecraft’s Re-Animator. The film gives most horror fans that warm fuzzy feeling of the days of yore. Back when the gore was copious an the T&A was a necessity. Here we have a tale of a brilliant young medical student, Herbert West, who after his mentor dies in Switzerland gets accepted into Miskatonic Medical School in the United States. West’s work consists of conquering brain death, and bringing the dead back to life. He continues his research unbeknownst to the faculty and residents. He soon gets his roommate involved in his ghastly doings, and soon they end up involving the Dean’s daughter, the Dean himself, and the school’s head professor, with disastrous consequences.

Horror doesn’t get much better than this, folks. One of the goriest films out there, this one is chock-full of violence, T&A and black humor. An absolute must see for anybody who has ever entertained the mere thought of watching a horror film. Truly one of the best horror films of all time. Period. Jeffrey Combs is absolutely brilliant as Herbert West, and the beautiful Barbara Crampton is almost constantly naked. This is the definitive version of the film, and apparently it’s limited edition, so grab em while you still can seeing as the original Elite disc is out of print. Get 2!
