Raw Meat
(Gary Sherman; 1972)
(MGM)
-Overview-
After a group of workers are trapped underground during a cave in while constructing some subway tunnels, a handful survive and are forced to live by consuming their dead. Having run out of food, the two remaining survivors are forced to pick off unsuspecting subway riders in modern day London. When an important government figure disappears, it’s up to two college students and the police to uncover the answer.
Pleasantly surprised, I was. This turned out to be a great film. Donald Pleasance is in peak form as the cranky chief Inspector, and Christopher Lee makes an albeit short appearance as well. Plenty of gore (lots, in fact for an American film from 1972) and well written. I recommend this one to all horror fans.
