Manhattan Baby
(a.k.a. Eye of the Evil Dead, The Possessed)
(Lucio Fulci; 1982)
(Anchor Bay Entertainment)
-Overview-
During a vacation in Egypt, a strange old woman gives a young girl a mysterious amulet, and her father, an archaeologist, is struck blind by blue laser beams. When the family returns home to Manhattan, they are plagued by strange happenings and lots of sand.
This film is absolutely mind numbing. The script is atrocious, and doesn’t manage to hold the viewer’s interest for any length of time whatsoever. The gore effects are well done, but there are far too few of them to be worth the time. Easily one of the Maestro’s worst films. For Fulci completists only.
