The Last House on the Left

(Wes Craven; 1972)

(MGM)

-Overview-

Two teenage girls whilst on their way to a rock concert are kidnapped by a group of ex-convicts and subsequently tortured and brutalized.

The Last House on the Left is a classic exploitation film and in my opinion, one of Craven’s best efforts. The subject matter is brutal and unflinching, leaving the viewer with a real feeling of desperation as the girls are forced into all sorts of compromising situations. This DVD release contains the uncut version of the film including the infamous disembowelment. Fun for the whole family. Essential viewing.

-Sound-

Good sound quality. Dolby Digital Mono.

A great transfer with few flaws. Included are both Widescreen 1.85:1 (enhanced for 16X9 TVs) and the Pan and Scan version.

-Packaging-

Standard DVD keep case. The new cover is ass, however. I wish they would have left the box art well enough alone.
