Irreversible

(Gaspar Noé; 2002)

(Lions Gate Home Entertainment)

-Overview-

A film about a woman who gets raped in an underpass, and her suitor’s search for the culprit in order to exact revenge.

Not a horror film per sé, this is one of the most brilliant films ever made. Period. It’s gripping, thought provoking, and powerful. Truly a film that will stay with you for a long time. The way the film unfolds in reverse is effective, and the camerawork is nothing less than brilliant. The acting is superb and every scene is portrayed with the utmost realism, and the special effects are jawdropping. Be sure to viddy the unrated version. Essential viewing.
