Final Destination 2 (Infinifilm Edition)

(David R. Ellis; 2003)

(New Line Home Entertainment)

-Overview-

A young woman saves herself and a group of others from a massive pileup on the freeway due to a premonition she has and blocks traffic. Unfortunately, messing with Death’s design just means that these people start getting picked off one by one in a series of bizarre freak accidents. The woman turns to the only survivor left of the plane crash from one year ago (Ali Larter) when similar events happened to see if they can cheat death like she managed to.

Sound familiar? This sequel follows the same formula as the original, and that’s not a bad thing. There’s plenty of gore as in the first film, but unfortunately a small amount of detectable CGI. No T&A except for a brief flash from some silicone biker slut. A great follow up to a brilliant film. I recommend both highly.

-Sound-

Dolby DTS 5.1 surround. The dialogue is crystal clear and the explosions are loud. Perfect.

-Picture-

Flawless. Presented in widescreen 1.85:1, or  Pan & Scan (bleah)

DVD keep case. I wish film companies would stop using the Scream formula cover artwork. It’s a tad annoying. Ali Larter in a string bikini would have been my vote.
