Emanuelle In America
(Joe D’Amato; 1976)
(Blue Underground)
-Overview-
Emanuelle is an undercover news reporter / photographer who in order to get her story is willing to put herself into compromising situations. Her lust for a good story takes her everywhere from nude photo spreads, to being a high priced call girl, to participating in depraved orgies. When she stumbles upon a couple having sex to a snuff film, she decides to infiltrate the snuff porn film ring. Mayhem and boobies ensue.
This is essentially sleaze for sleaze’s sake, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. D’Amato blends hardcore pornography with brutal violence in this unofficial entry into the Emmanuelle series. For the most part the film is just porn, which starts out as softcore sleaze and eventually builds up to hardcore sex complete with penetration and money shots, not to mention a questionable scene involving a horse. It’s not until the last half hour of the film that the viewer is subjected to some really graphic torture footage, but it’s worth the wait. The film is shocking in its own right, especially if the viewer wasn’t expecting the graphic sex and violence. From a collector’s standpoint, definitely track this one down because it’s already starting to get banned all over again. For the casual viewer, viddy at your own risk.
-Sound-
This is the best the film will ever sound. Great quality.
