Dead End Drive-In

(Brian Trenchard-Smith; 1986)

(Anchor Bay Entertainment)

-Overview-

In the not too distant future, society has started to crumbles and crime is rampant. Vicious “car gangs” prowl the streets plundering and pillaging. When a young teen borrows his older brother’s vintage car in order to take his girlfriend to the drive-in the couple soon ends up stranded there and unable to leave. Soon the discover that this is a common predicament, as the drive-in has become a sort of shanty town for derelicts.

This film was certainly not what I expected at all. Turns out it’s more of an homage to The Road Warrior than a straight up horror film, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. An amusing plot and plenty of action along with some decent T&A (the guy’s girlfriend is a hottie) make for an amusing diversion. One of the better Aussie genre films I have viddied.
