-Overview-

A group of College students rent a cabin in backwoods U.S.A. for a vacation. Soon a diseased wanderer shows up and spews vileness everywhere. The Students are killed off one by one by the bizarre flesh eating illness. Stranded in hickville, the students try to get help amongst the inbred freaks residing in the area. Mayhem ensues.

This one came out of nowhere and really impressed me. It’s plenty gory, has a decent amount of T&A and although it’s formulaic, is well written. Plenty of black humor abounds in this homage to horror days gone by. The days when filmmakers weren’t afraid to show plenty of female skin and red kroovy. The Effects are for the most part excellent, and there was no noticeable CGI whatsoever. And no matter what anybody says, backwoods hillbillies make for good cinema. This is what 28 Days Later should have been.
