Buttcrack
(Jim Larsen; 1999)
(Troma)
-Overview-
The heart wrenching tale of a man and his roommate who won’t pull up his pants. Brian lives with the most annoying man on the face of the earth. He stomps around singing the most atrocious songs off key, won’t stop talking about Atari, and annoys Brian to no end. When Wade starts getting between Brian and his new fiancée, Brian “accidentally” kills Wade. Unfortunately, Wade’s sister is a voodoo priestess, and resurrects Wade to get revenge. I was really looking forward to seeing this one, and unfortunately I came away a tad disappointed. Sure, it’s chock full of Troma cheese, but somehow it just seemed lacking. Perhaps because it only clocks in around 60 minutes, or the lack of copious ridiculous gore that is a Troma tradition. Mojo Nixon is great as Preacherman Bob however, and the film is entertaining. I guess I was just expecting more.
-Sound-
The sound is ok, nothing to brag about, but no problems that I noticed either.
-Picture-
The film was shot on a shoestring budget, and the picture quality suffers as a result, but this is in now way the fault of the DVD transfer in any way. Troma knows what they’re doing when it comes to DVD.

The one Easter Egg I did find included a short film entitled “Puke O Rama” and
it’s absolutely terrible. I did sit through the entire thing however, so I guess
it’s not that bad.
-Box Art-
As always, Troma has done a splendid job on the box art for yet another DVD in their library. Honestly one of the best companies as far as DVD out there. Period.
