Blood Freak

(Brad F. Grinter / Steve Hawkes; 1972)

-Overview-

A Christian anti-drug propaganda gore film….. you just don’t see those every day. A muscle bound biker falls in with the wrong kind of girl and gets tricked into smoking some weed. Things don’t bode well as he turns into a convulsing turkey monster who needs the blood of drug addicts to satiate his ever growing addiction. I was actually surprised how gory this film was, considering it is a pro-Jesus film. And the gore is extremely well done. The film on the other hand….is atrocious. Some of the worst acting ever committed to celluloid is right here, folks. It’s so bad, it’s good. The dialogue is so pathetic, it’s laughable. As is the acting. Unfortunately, the film skimps a little on the T&A, but all in all this is a camp classic. Just don’t take it seriously (I don’t think anybody could). Required viewing for fans of z grade cinema.

-Sound-

Horrible. The sound fades in and out. But I suspect it was due to the filmmaker’s ineptitude.

-Picture-

The picture is washed out and grainy, and the DVD transfer really shows up the flaws. Not due to any fault of Image, I might add. The film is just so horribly done.
