-Overview-
The grandson of infamous Fuad Ramses, Fuad Ramses III inherits his grandfather’s catering business. Upon discovering the evil statue of Ishtar in the back room, Fuad begins to follow in his grandpa’s footsteps preparing an Egyptian Feast in her honor. After the bridesmaids for an upcoming local wedding start turning up dead and mutilated, it’s Detectives Michael Myers and Sam Loomis’ job to get to the bottom of things. Will they be in time to stop the dreaded Blood Feast?
It was with mild trepidation that I popped my Blood Feast 2 DVD into the DVD player. The original is a classic in horrible low budget schlock cinema. How can anybody expand upon that? Well leave it to the pioneer of the gore film, H.G. Lewis that task. Picking up where he left off in his classic from the 60’s, this is one excellent piece of cinema. It’s extremely tongue-in-cheek, and chock full of gore and naked hotties. The effects are actually quite well done, and the storyline is surprisingly decent. The acting isn’t nearly as bad as one would expect either. There’s enough stupid humor to entertain even the most jaded Troma fan as well. I’m actually surprised that Troma wasn’t involved in the production. I’m reluctant to say this one is better than the original, but at the very least it’s just as good. Worth seeking out.

The sound is fine with no flaws save for one small part where the music gets a tad garbled. Dolby Digital 2.0
