Synopsis: Cult director Larry Buchanan (The Naked Witch) tackles nothing less than the killing of President John F. Kennedy by showing what The Trial of Lee Harvey Oswald might have been like had Oswald lived to defend himself. Filmed in Dallas shortly after the assassination -- before the results of the Warren Report and the flood of various conspiracy theories -- "the testimony, evidence, and facts that you will see and hear were obtained from public records and from eyewitnesses to the events." Surprisingly, the issue here is not whether Oswald was a lone gunman but, rather, if he was crazy or not: "The defendant suffers from a major mental disorder! Schizophrenia, paranoid type!" A fascinating glimpse into speculative history -- in which each viewer becomes a "member of the jury" -- this was briefly released to theaters in April of 1964 but according to Buchanan, "due to unwarranted pressures the picture suppressed after this first showing" and has remained virtually unseen for almost four decades.
